The Harrowing from Storyglass Podcasts
Finally, the action-horror drama podcast of your dreams has arrived! Written by Mark Healy (The Witcher 3, Dragon Age: Inquisition) and starring Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey, Liar), this is the tale of a devastating storm hitting the remote Scottish island of Toll Mòr and the supernatural forces at work within it. With Biblical prophecies, demonic possessions and apocalyptic consequences, it’s a real romp of a series with moments of true horror genius and pulse-raising action throughout. It’s been produced by Ben Walker at Storyglass, the podcast production wing of Fremantle Media UK and promises to be a feast of top acting and gorgeous sound design.
I play numerous characters within and can be heard throughout the series, if you can pick me out through a variety of thick accents. This was the last job I did before lockdown, right on the precipice, just as all of us were worrying whether being in the same room as multiple other people was a good idea. Fortunately we managed to get the whole thing on tape just before we all began self-isolating, and overall the whole experience was a delight and the perfect last trip out before work became distinctly more remote.
As well as this new show, you can also hear me in a small role in Storyglass’s first ever production from Christmas 2018, Baby It’s Cold Outside, a heartbreaking tale of life on the edge of homelessness starring Chris O’Dowd, who is even taller in real life than you might imagine. It’s still on podcast apps everywhere and at the link below.
